IU Search to switch to Google
To improve the Indiana University search engine, University Information Technology Services (UITS), has licensed a Google Search Appliance (G-5005) with support for two million pages and will transition search services to the search appliance on Saturday, December 17, 2005.
To smooth the transition to Google, the Systems Integration Team is implementing a servlet that will read current search parameters in the query string of your search and then translate them to Google parameters. This should make most search boxes work as they have in the past. However, you should begin updating the HTML code on your site for the new Google Search Appliance. Information on how to update your code, along with further details about this change, is available at:
